President's Message In this message, I first wish to felicitate the members and wish each and everyone a happy and a prosperous new year 2011. I also thank the membership for electing me as President of the Galle Medical Association and look forward to a future of fruitful achievements for the good of the association and the country at large. Like in the past years, we have a calendar full of academic and social events lined up for the year 2011. I also expect to have more outreach CME programmes by going to the Peripheral Hospitals in the Southern Province. I also feel it is time that we updated the Guidelines for Antimicrobial Use that the GMA published in 1996. I believe the GMA Committee is fully competent in achieving all what is planned for 2011 and I very humbly request the entire GMA membership to extend their fullest support to the committee in all the activities planned for the year and actively participate in the Academic and Social programmes organized.
